For XP users, in 2014 Should Migration

Although Microsoft had previously claimed will extend the life of Windows XP until 2020, but Microsoft is now more incentive to urge users to switch to Windows 7. This is because the version of Windows XP will be completely finished in April 2014.

Community Manager for Windows Stephen Rose said many third-party software providers are reluctant to extend support for their applications on Windows XP. That is, risk and complexity faced greater XP users. Companies are still using this OS should also spend more for management costs.

In addition to eliminating all security updates for XP, Microsoft is also trying to redirect users to leave XP through the new Internet Explorer 9 browser that does not support the OS. IE9 can run on versions of Vista and Windows 7. Similarly, as reported by Yahoo News, Wednesday (13/07/2011).

Of course, persistence Microsoft invites users to leave due to the presence XP version of Windows 7, which has allegedly been used by 27 percent of PCs. In fact, Microsoft is expected to slide newest OS, Windows 8, next year. According to Rose, Windows 7 has now been adopted by several major companies, including Boeing, Dell, Samsung and BMW.

Even so, according to Net Applications, XP users are still very much. Currently XP is still used by 51 percent of all PCs in the world. Some analysts also predict that the XP represents approximately 60 percent of corporate computers.

Meanwhile, the research firm Gartner indicated that more than 50 percent of organizations that did not begin to adopt Windows 7 in early 2012 will not complete the process is there to support for XP is really over. They seem to be quite willing to pay extra to maintain Windows XP.

Analyst with Information Technology Intelligence Corp. to Laura DiDio warned Microsoft not to force XP users migrate to the new OS before it actually ready. According to him, "Division of IT in different firms are concerned with the problems faced XP, but as long as the OS is still running, they are nonetheless quite satisfied."

Most other users, according to DiDio, will wait until 2014, or even until the release of Windows 8 next year, before finally upgrading their computer operating systems.
